Temporary Email Generator

Spin up a fresh disposable email address backed by the public mail.tm API. Read incoming mail in your browser, copy the address, generate new addresses on demand. Toollyz has no backend; the browser talks to mail.tm directly. Free, no signup.

What is the Temporary Email Generator?

A temporary email generator lets you grab a throwaway address for verifying a signup, accepting a trial download or any one-time email confirmation without giving away your real inbox. Toollyz Temporary Email Generator runs in your browser and talks directly to the **public mail.tm API** — a free, no-account, CORS-enabled disposable-mail service. On load Toollyz asks mail.tm for an active domain, generates a random username (`word-1234@domain`) and a strong random password (20 chars from a confusable-free alphabet), creates an account via `POST /accounts`, requests an auth token via `POST /token` and stores both **only in this tab's memory** — no localStorage persistence so a reload spins up a fresh inbox. The inbox auto-refreshes every 12 seconds while the tab is visible. Tapping a message opens its plain-text content plus a sandboxed HTML preview that blocks scripts and network requests. Toollyz has no backend; everything flows between your browser and mail.tm directly. The honest disclosure panel is prominent: the address is provided by a third party, anyone with the address can read incoming mail until mail.tm deletes the account, and this isn't suitable for password resets or financial confirmations.

How to use it

  1. On load Toollyz auto-creates a fresh disposable address via mail.tm — copy it from the hero.
  2. Send (or paste into a signup form) — the inbox auto-refreshes every 12 seconds.
  3. Click a message to view its plain-text content and a sandboxed HTML preview.
  4. Click Generate new to spin up a brand-new address; click Copy address to grab the current one.

Benefits

  • Auto-creates a fresh disposable address on page load — no signup, no Toollyz account.
  • Random username from a curated word list + random password from a 60-char confusable-free alphabet.
  • Browser polls mail.tm every 12 seconds while the tab is visible — fresh enough without rate-limiting.
  • Plain-text view + sandboxed HTML preview (`sandbox=""` blocks scripts and network).
  • Generate new address spins up a completely separate inbox in one click.
  • Honest disclosure: third-party service (mail.tm), no persistence, public-by-design.
  • Token stored only in tab memory — reloading is the equivalent of throwing the address away.
  • 100% private from Toollyz's perspective — your browser talks to mail.tm directly, no Toollyz server in the path.

Frequently asked questions

Whose service backs this tool?

mail.tm — a free, no-account, CORS-enabled disposable mail service (docs.mail.tm). Toollyz has no backend; your browser talks to mail.tm directly. We're explicit about the third-party dependency in the honest-disclosure panel.

How long does the address last?

mail.tm controls account lifetime — they delete inactive accounts on their own schedule (typically days to weeks). Treat the address as ephemeral; don't rely on it being there next week.

Is the inbox private?

Anyone with the address and an account at mail.tm can sign in and read incoming mail until the account is deleted. The address itself is essentially public. Don't use the inbox for anything sensitive (password resets to your main accounts, financial confirmations, recovery codes).

Why is the address regenerated on every reload?

The auth token is stored only in this tab's memory — there's no localStorage persistence. A reload throws the token away and starts fresh. This is intentional: it means a closed tab is truly closed.

How is the HTML body rendered safely?

Inside an iframe with `sandbox=""` (an empty sandbox attribute), which blocks scripts, forms, top-level navigation and same-origin access. Phishing attempts can't auto-redirect, exfiltrate or run JS.

What does "auto-refresh every 12 seconds" mean?

When the tab is visible, Toollyz calls `GET /messages` on mail.tm every 12 seconds. When the tab is hidden, polling pauses — that respects mail.tm's rate limit and saves bandwidth.

Can I send mail from the disposable address?

Not from Toollyz — we only support receiving. mail.tm Premium offers send-as functionality but requires an account on their service; that's outside the scope of this tool.

What happens if mail.tm is down?

Toollyz can't create accounts or fetch messages — there is no fallback in this release. The honest answer is "wait for mail.tm to come back".

Are my emails uploaded to Toollyz?

No. Toollyz has no server in the path — your browser talks to mail.tm directly via their public CORS endpoints. Messages live on mail.tm, not on Toollyz.

Is this Temporary Email Generator free?

Completely free with no signup. mail.tm offers a free tier that this tool uses; they also sell a paid tier with longer retention if you need that.
